Big Fun for Energetic Kids
Why are we still insisting on booking? Local COVID cases are still high. Our finance manager wants us packed, but we don’t believe our customers want a crowded play barn experience! Our staff don’t want it and we have a duty of care to them and you. For now, until we see a significant drop in local cases we will continue with booking to ensure sensible numbers in the play barn and a steady flow, in and out, during the day.
However, we made a promise to our members that they would be able to visit unrestricted so … MEMBERS: NO BOOKING REQUIRED FROM MONDAY 19th JULY
What about masks? No-one wants COVID and no-one wants to give it to someone else (well we hope they don’t). Mask wearing reduces transmission, especially indoors. If you have a specific problem or exemption regarding mask-wearing then it’s your right to make a personal choice, but we’d like you, if possible, to wear a mask in our building. It shows respect to our staff who can’t afford to isolate and to the other customers sharing the building who may feel uncomfortable around non-mask wearers, indoors. It’s not really a big deal for most people to pop one on for a short time!
Will it be packed? We will be now be allowing slightly higher numbers in the play barn (up to about 50% of our capacity, whereas we have been running at 40%). For those with any concern, we have a specific quiet 2 hours with lower numbers from 9-11 each day (indicated on our calendar) and you’ll always find it tapers off at the end of the day. Book at a lunchtime on a Saturday and you should expect it to be busier. It’s worth noting that we are never really packed in the summer holidays as a) people have all week to come so they naturally spread out, in contrast to term time when the weekends are obviously popular. b) it’s summer!
Much more than your average softplay! We are a huge venue with BIG slides, hundreds of metres of clamber challenges, walkways, rope bridges and air cannons. Outside, we offer a massive undercover jumping pillow, an and inflatable assault course. For little ones, there are toddler and baby zones. All included in entry.
Please note: we are a stand-alone attraction on the same site as The Children’s Farm. You can visit either attraction, separately, or combine a visit by buying a ticket to both (these are called COMBI tickets and are available in limited numbers from the Children’s Farm website.
Great food, cooked to order. We offer a good value family-friendly menu with generous portion sizes; from burgers to home-cooked lasagne, there’s something for everyone’s taste.
Currently we are offering a more limited menu, see image. Allergy information is available for all items.
Please note: we do not allow you to consume your own food or drink inside or outside the play barn. Should you wish to picnic, there are benches near the entrance to the farm which play barn customers may use.
Lots of fun for kids of all ages …
Big Slides; who’s brave enough to try the drop slide? Don’t worry if you’re not, we have three more of varying speeds and steepness.
Bright, open atmosphere; The Big Play Barn is a spacious, purpose- built attraction with lots of natural light and sliding doors to our secure outside space.
Bounce; we have a massive bouncy pillow located right next to the main seating area. It’s outside but under cover so it’s perfect for fresh air bouncing without getting wet.
Loads for little ones; at least 4 spaces are dedicated to younger children, some for babies and some for toddlers. Little explorers can also enjoy the big children’s play areas and you are welcome to accompany them.
Zorbing fun; if you enjoy rolling around in a plastic bubble, you are in luck. Zorbing is included in your admission. It is season and weather permitting (zorbing isn’t much fun in the wind and rain!) For age 4, upwards. NOTE: ZORBING IS STILL CLOSED DUE TO NOT BEING COVID-SAFE

“Was the first time visiting the Big Play Barn and it was very impressive, so much to do indoors and outdoors. My son loved it and so did his dad, to be honest. It’s definitely the best and largest play area I’ve seen and I also found it very clean.”
